Seriously, though, why is this man still on tv?

by

Pat Buchanan is at it again.  You know, he dialed it back a notch for several years, there, but I think Sarah Palin has got his nativist blood up, again.  From his latest:

One million to 2 million immigrants, legal and illegal, arrive every year. They come with fewer skills and less education than Americans, and consume more tax dollars than they contribute by three to one.

Legal immigrants are Americans, you goddam lunatic.*

They’re just as much Americans as you, just as much citizens as you, possessed of exactly the same rights and responsibilities as you.  And I’d happily take three of them for one of you, if only we could find a foreign nation willing to take you.

Wise Latina women have more babies north of the border than they do in Mexico and twice as many here as American women. As almost all immigrants are now Third World people of color, they qualify for ethnic preferences in hiring and promotions and admissions to college over the children of Americans.

And with that, my viewing of any MSNBC or NBC programming comes to an end.

I’ll greatly miss Rachel Maddow, easily the best anchor on television.  But a man’s got to have some minimum standards . . . as does a tv network, and they must fall somewhere well north of Pat Buchanan.

Until MS/NBC’s do, they’ve lost a viewer.

[* Sometimes there’s no substitute for the original French.  Apologies to tender ears.]

And he beats the taxaton vs freedom drum.

I don’t know why Rachel gives this blowhard airtime. Sometimes the shit (merde in the original French) he spreads is so obviously absurd that even HE can’t keep a straight face.

    That’s entertainment for you.

Don’t think I’ll give up rachel, though.
